Chametz Disposal for Highland Park and Edison

April 14, 2022

EDISON

The Township of Edison is sponsoring a garbage truck and supervised chametz burning on Friday, April 15 from 7:00am to 12:00pm. The truck will be in front of Ohr Torah, 48 Edgemount Rd, Edison, NJ 08817. Please only burn what is halachly required. There will also be a place to dispose of garbage.

HIGHLAND PARK

The Borough's Department of Public Works offers a Chometz disposal drop-off service for any residents that wish to drop off garbage and recycling materials. Chometz disposal will be offered during the hours of 6:30am – 1:00pm at the Department of Public Works building, located at: 444 Valentine Street in Highland Park, on Friday, April 15, 2022.

  • Please follow Highland Park’s regular recycling rules and separate garbage and chametz from recycling items such as glass, plastic, paper and cardboard.

  • All Chometz MUST be dropped off by 1:00pm. 

  • Do not leave items after this time, as there is no garbage storage at this location.

CHAMETZ BURNING IN HIGHLAND PARK

Chametz burning will take place at Congregation Ahavas Achim at 216 South First Avenue in the parking lot on Friday, April 15 from 7:00am to 11:30am.


We like to thank our two municipalities for offering these services for their Jewish residents. Please be respectful of the workers and follow the rules and regulations.
