Moses commanded us the Torah, an inheritance of the congregation of Jacob (Deuteronomy 33:5).
Many Jewish souls have been pauperized through their parents’ neglect and deprived of their inheritance. If any child has a right to theur share in mankind’s supreme spiritual heritage of the Torah, it is the Jewish child, the child of the people of Moses who created that people through the Torah. The Torah of the Jew is the greatest classic of all literature, the most vivid document of all history, the constitutional charter of our moral society and spiritual humanity. Yet many a Jewish parent is dispossessing his/her children of their proudest and most ennobling spiritual heritage in the measure that he/she fails to teach them, not superficially from books about the Torah, but earnestly and diligently out of the Torah itself.
