Rabbi Hammer is originally from the United States where he was ordained and received a B.A. and M.A. in psychology and education. Rabbi Hammer has been actively involved in Israel as an educator and lecturer for many religious and secular organizations and institutions. Shalom is a senior lecturer for the Jewish Identity branch of the IDF and a guest lecturer for the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem.
